Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 14 Mar 2023 (Tuesday) at about 1230 hrs, alert troops of BOP Chakgopal of 137 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 02 Indian nationals namely Gurseswak Singh (16 Yrs) S/O Joginder Singh @ Naiba Singh, R/O Vill-Moosa, PS-Mansa, Distt-Mansa (Punjab) alongwith his mother while both were trying to cross border illegally from India to Bangladesh through the unfenced area. Indian Currency Rs.3,600/- and 02 Mobile Phone were recovered from their possession.
Apprehended lady revealed that she belongs to Bangladesh by birth. She was marry with an Indian national namely Joginder Singh 25 years ago and living with her husband at Vill-Moosa, PS+Distt-Mansa (Punjab).
Apprehended lady with his son were going to meet with their relatives in Bangladesh but both were apprehended by BSF while trying to cross border illegally. Apprehended duo with seized items were handed over to PS Hili.
In addition to above, on 14 & 15 Mar 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 02 Cattle, 760 bottles of Phensedyl group of syrup and other contraband items from different border area. The total value of seized items is Rs.2,09,384/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
